The National Fruit Show was held at Detling Showground in Kent on 01 November. Growers, producer organisations, agronomists, land-use colleges, and many other related industries attended and called by the NIAB stand where we repeated the interactive landscape complexity ranking exercise with around 10 people.

Dr Michelle Fountain also introduced the project to G’s Salad Group on 11 October. There were around 20 attendees including the farmers and NIAB and University of Cambridge scientists. The group discussed the benefits of wildflowers to fruit crops and potentially salad crops.

In September, Michelle Fountain visited Food and Plant Research, NZ. Talks were given to around 60 grower groups and scientists on the project and potential outcomes. There was much debate and discussion on increasing heterogeneity in the landscape and on farms.

NIAB East Malling hosted a LEAF event on 04 Oct for around 20 farmers, agronomists, wildlife conservation, certification schemes experts. Dr Sarah Arnold included a talk on the Agrobioconnect project aims and initial outcomes.
